The Betrayal of British Engineering
« on October 07, 2010, 10:15:29 am by River Don »
News this morning that Eurostar have put in a big order for new trains. Where do you think they going to be built then? Some low wage South East Asian country we can't possibly compete with? China?

Nope, Germany.

Of course the French are very upset they haven't continued ordering theirs. As for places like Doncaster and Crewe, well it's just a crying shame isn't it?

This is the result of 'privatisation' and allowing 'market forces' to rule.

I seem to remeber being made redundant from the railway as they cut jobs to make it more saleable.

Doncaster, Crewe, Bletchley (now a lovely supermarket) and doubtless other locations have been sacrificed in the fight against 'nationalisation' ........

........ Haven't many of us heard it before?????

Divide and conquer.
