Following in the footsteps of a genius
« on October 11, 2010, 07:05:56 pm by jucyberry »
Every few years there comes to the fore a brain of almost dazzling agility......

The gap left by Jade Goody,(rest her soul) was today filled by a mind of comparable and breathtaking talent....

I stand in awe of the American education system that has helped to shape this immense talent...

Shannon, (my sometimes daughter-in-law) came into my living room today ..and I quote....

'Hey you guys, I gotta question for ya but I don't want you to think I'm thick... But umm....Is Norfolk in England, cos I thought you were Norfolkers, so are you actually English........?'

Thank Christ Ty is a throw back and hasn't got his mothers brains!

Reminds me of the time I was supping a beer or three chatting to a postgrad student in Tulane University (that's New Orleans) when he came out with the all time classic \"Gee! Ain't you frightened living so close to the Russians?\".

Nope mate. I'm not. I'm more frightened of you tossers saluting a f**king flag in your front garden every bloody night.

For those who haven't worked it out, this conversation was a little while ago....

As far as I'm concerned the winner in this category is George 'Dubya' Bush

On arriving at Belfast Airport he was asked 'What part of Northern Ireland are you looking forward to seing most?'

'Dublin' says George Dubya

Singlehandedly set back relations by 10 years..........

The mystifying thing about Bush is that he went to Yale Uni for undergrad, and Harvard for an MBA.  How could this be???

A bit of name dropping I know but my mate Andrew Wiles went to school in Cambridge, studied for his BA in Maths at Merton College, Oxford, did his Doctorate at Cambridge University, before going to Princeton where he proved Fermat's last theorem before returning to Merton later this year.

So it can be done successfully as well as a la Bush

He sounds very impressive and used smarts and hard work vs. family legacy and large checks to the endowment fund.  But I still would have thought something would have gotten through Bush's noggin.  :(

Listen, ever since America voted Ronald Reagan to be their president I've believed anything can happen there.  Its like one huge Disneyland.

I had a giggle at Demolition Man the other day, set in a future where Schwarzenegger had become President of the US. Not a million miles from the truth that one.

So it's no surprise then that he and Maggie were such close friends!   ;)

There could be worse to come.

This \"Tea Party\" faction seems to be building some momentum and they are scarey.  They actually do quote the \"Socialist-Jewish pinko faggot\" stuff.  One of their leading lights has even made a TV adverisement to assure the voters she isn't a witch (although she has dabbled in witchcraft).  What's all the fuss??  It never bothered Maggie.

Heard an interview with one of their supporters from the Deep South who runs a car sale business.  He gives away a gun with every purchase, and by gun, I mean GUN....Kalasnikovs amd M16s

Doh Silly me, apologies Sandy

I caught the wrong point and thought it was about Harvard and Yale being such bitter enemies that no-one went to both - like Oxford & Cambridge - and I didn't cotton on to the point that the combined might of Harvard and Yale was still not enough to have an effect on Dubya   :(

I did my second year at Murray State in Kentucky, on exchange from the University of Sunderland. Far and away the hardest part of my course. In my opinion if you've made it to any of the Ivy League Universities over there your nobodys Joe Cnut!

Nothing wrong with Disneyland (as I used to live and work there   )

Unsurprisingly I know a lot of Americans and some are really clever, some even understand football very well including knowledge of Rovers before I even met them.

Others are thick as pigshit, the lack of intelligence in some Americans is actually unbelieveable.  I even got asked if I knew John Smith from London - that's an example, but people actually thought I would know their friends.  Very blinkered the Americans.  They are mighty jealous of a lot of British things though paticularly sporting culture and the Queen for some reason.
