If you were planning on calling here for a pint pre or post match on Saturday don't bother.
Yet another once great pub boarded up.

The owner was from Thorne, as far as I heard he'd gone back there. It shut end of July, but don't be too diss heartened the high class couture bar \"The Wharf\" is just over the bridge  :S

Unfortunatley this is becoming more of a trait in todays society. 4 pubs(Bar Intemission, The Green Dragon, The Four Brothers) all within 10 mins walk from my house are either flatend/boarded up/or in the process of being converted into flats.
The pub culture is slowly but surely being eradicated from our society.
People would rather stay in, go round friends/family than spend cash in a boozer. IMO most blame lays at the feet of two parties
1. The government for charging exssesive duty on alcohol and
2. The supermarkets, for there loss/leader alcoholic drink promotions(not that I`m complaining about them!!).
Medway as most places are these days is full of closed pubs, sign of the times I`m afraid. :(  :(

I blame women. Some knobhead gave them equal rights some years ago and now they don't let us go to the pub.

Oh for heavens sake! Is that why most of the remaining pubs advertise that they have sky tv on? Its actually one of the few lures that landlords have remaining to them!

Regarding the OP, thats the bacon/sausage sarnies done for then, may as well take the M18 instead of the A18 and just keep my foot of the gas on the bend where the boys in blue hide out with the speed camera!!!!

Nah, I stopped going to the local pub long before I bought Sky TV.

Most locals are rubbish, stuck in the 70s, and the antithesis of 90s/00s gym and health culture.  Plus its a damned expensive way to spend your evenings.
