« on December 10, 2010, 11:00:06 am by wardy16 »
Does anyone no of anywhere offering any part time jobs? I've applied for loads and I just keep getting ignored!  :(

Anyway, I'd be grateful if anyone could give me any suggestions?

Cheers

It's tough mate, you have to be preapred to be ignored unfortunately. Few jobs and masses of applicants. If you don't tick all the initial boxes you tend not to get replied to.

Had it myself this past year. It can be soul destroying at times but you just have to stick at it.

Good luck

How good is your CV?

What experience do you have?

What qualifications do you have?

Where have you sought advice from?

Where do you look for jobs?

Have you tried volunteering as a way into work?

Have you tried things you're not trained for?

If you want any old job it shouldn't be a problem, depends how picky you are, how good your CV is and where you're looking.  Do it right and you'll eventually get there.

thank you, these are things I keep looking at. It's basically just a job to keep me going until I eventually go to university (if I can afford it!)

Are you studying at 6th form college then?  If so I'd reccommend trying hotels, pubs etc for evening jobs or every shop in the town for a weekend/evening job, even down to your local shop.  Print 100 CVs off and just bombard people, eventually someone will come back to you.

that's my next point of call! I've got a load of envelopes ready!
I left sixth form last year but I'm trying to boost my points to get onto a better course at uni.

I recently retired from Ventura at Wath. It'a a call centre but are always taking on both full and part timers. Only problem is you would probably have to work at least one of the weekend days after you'd completed training and been allocated a team. Upside is after 3 months you get card for 25% reduction at Next. Also once a permanent employee you would qualify for the bonus for referring new (and subsequently employed) people to Ventura. Also there is the TSC call centre at Wath you could try.
