Another one bites the dust - Baraclough
« on March 16, 2011, 08:42:42 am by DavTrav »
Sky sports reporting this morning that Baraclough has been sacked after last nights loss to Preston.

Very surprised at this and very rash I think - it's not as if they were exactly much different before he took charge!

Brian Laws anyone??! Haha

Laws is the favourite according to the BBC report.

Given the relative amount of success Adkins enjoyed, the next man was always going to be under pressure to emulate him.

I expect the same situation to occur if and when SO'D leaves the club...next bloke will have some big shoes to fill.

Bit harsh on the guy, they sell Hooper and Hayes leaves on a free and they get someone from League 2 and non league to replace them. Was always going to be a struggle for them this year and they are still in with a chance of staying up

When Burnley sacked Laws i jokingly said to my mate i bet he ends up back at Scunny, we will soon see

I thought they wanted to go down so they didn't have to make the ground all-seater... ;)

Quite harsh really. Okay, he brought in a whole new team in January which should've seen them get better results than last night, but he inherited a club that would always struggle this season with the sale of key players. Plus, it was only two or three games ago that they were looking like the most likely side to get out of trouble.

I suppose the Board are just hoping to get the 'new manager bounce' this close to the end of the season to see them safe.  Got to be worth it in their situation.

Mmmm yes- like the amazing \"dead cat bounce\" experienced by Sheffield United and Preston when they changed their managers!

If it takes 12-13 games to take effect, it will be a bit late for Scunny.

Some of them are threatening to boycott going to matches if Laws returns.

Considering in the last month they have beaten Forest, Swansea,Sheff Utd and drawn with Derby without 4 of there star players from last season,i think baraclough had done reasonably well and still had a chance of guiding them to safety.
I guess the 5 losses in the same period proved to much for the board and his time ran out,so now someone else can come in and take all the credit if they stay up ,and if they don't,well the board come out smelling of roses either way for at least trying to save the clubs Championship status.:headbang:

The Scunny fans were singing, Sacked in the morning to Barraclough against Preston and cheering the opposition.
