Any cricketers on here?
« on May 28, 2011, 09:57:27 pm by wardy16 »
At the risk of being abused by you cricket haters, I was wondering if anyone had any idea on which bats are best - I'm playing for a village team's 2nd XI so I don't really know how much to spend or what the difference in price offers differently?
You can spend from about £15 to £400... Help?

It depends how serious you are. I'd use the clubs bats if your only starting out. If I were buying one go to Warrior in Wakefield. The club I played for used them all the time and their bats are quality as is their after care and repair service. And if you do but one make sure you knock it in properly, even if it is supposedly ready to use.

Go with the one that feels best for you.  If there are club bats use them to see how you go first.

haha they really cracked under the pressure didn't they! Every time I looked there was another one out! I couldn't believe we managed to win after only about 3 days of play.

About 12 years ago I had tickets for the Saturday of the England - Windies test at Headingley. I wasn't best pleased (kind of) to get home from work to see Andy Caddick skittling the hapless tourist as England won inside 2 days !!!

I got a refund, but nothing could make up for not enjoying a Saturday at the Test Match on the old Western Terrace at Headingley. Anyone who's ever been will know what I mean :P
