The Four Yorkshiremen Sketch
« on August 20, 2011, 10:23:50 pm by Standanista »
Much in the manner of The Red Baron's earlier \"A 43-year old illusion shattered\" thread, I had always been under the impression that the famous Four Yorkshiremen sketch was a Monty Python work.  Imaging my surprise therefore (in Viz Letterbox fashion) when I found out this evening that, while Monty Python of course covered the routine, the original is not by them.

Granted, Graham Chapman and John Cleese were two of the original four co-authors and actors, but answers on a postcard who the other two were, before you Google it or click the link?

I suppose it would be a Cambridge Footlights thing. I'm guessing Peter Cook and Dudley Moore.

Well, I wouldn't have guessed those two.

Just thinking about it, I suppose someone could do a version called \"The Four Rovers Fans\" reminiscing about days of being rubbish in the Conference, Division Four etc. Mark Wilson really IS a luxury when you've been exposed to the likes of Harvey Cunningham and Dave Wignall!

Another one for the creative types- Hitler's \"Downfall\" with JR or SO'D complaining about the injury crisis.
