Question - 5 A-Side Leagues?!?
« on September 23, 2011, 01:13:27 pm by jonnydog »
Wondered if anyone can help, me and a few mates play 5 A-Side at the Dome every monday night and we (foolishly) reckon nows the time to join in a 5 A-Side league. Problem is, the nearest one any of us know of is near Elmsall.

Does anyone know/play in one in Donny that play on a monday night (ideally), or a Wednesday or Thursday?

Any help will be gratefully appreciated!

I play in the Monday night league at the KM which is OK, why not pop into the the Community office near the away end tomorrow & get details (I think the new league is due to start in a week or two)

Used to play Wednesday nights at the KM but we quit partly due to dwindling numbers and partly to do with a fair amount of nob heads playing. Also, don't expect great communication with the KM, they have a habit of not telling you you don't have a game.

I haven't played regular football for ages. Can't play 11 a side.

I play in a six-aside team on a Sunday at Balby Carr, and despite my team being one of, if not the weakest in the league, we have a good banter with the other teams and the league is a good one, there's one team that can be a bit 'knobheadish' but that's all - it's a good crack!

Have a look at:

http://www.championsoccer.co.uk/

They do five and six aside leagues all over - my team love it and will be signing up for our fourth season shortly!

Thanks to everyones help in this. I'll call into Keepmoat before kick off today and enquire about the one at the Keepmoat. But if anyone can give me details of any others (i.e. Times, price, matches, banter, contact numbers) then I'd appreciate it. We're all over the other side of donny (Edenthorpe, hatfield area) so if anyone plays in any this end then that'd be good to know. But Keepmoat/Balby Carr areas are fine too.

Best get into some kind of training now then  :pinch:

You're welcome to pitch your team against mine jd to get a feel for your level - if you do well against us the Balby Carr League would suit! I don't mind booking a pitch at KM to facilitate this over a weekend if you want!
