Trafford Way Tunnel from town towards Wheatley

Just finished my 13:00 - 21:00 shift at work.

Normally Id be home by 21:20 but Ive just got in at 22:00 because some idiot/ arsehole has decided tonight is a good time to shut said tunnel heading from Town towards Bentley...not that there is any warning signs until you reach the Tunnel itself and therefore they are diverting most traffic through the Station Car Park, and then you have to find your own way wherever you want to be.

Anyone have any idea what the hell is going on? Numerous scrote lads dressed up as workmen laughing and joking and generally scratching their arses and finding the whole situation hilarious.

They pick their times / dates they really do.

It was horrendous tonight, the traffic was a nightmare! I can understand the traffic going the other way with away fans heading towards the M18/M180, but as you say TWD the traffc into town was shocking, little signage, my mate gimme a lift to bus station (cos Mrs JD is on nights and has the car!) and again, as you say, there were 2 tw@ts stood next to train station entrance (moving cones for buses to enter would you believe it actually takes 2 men to do that). Alot of cones, all roads blocked, but little work being done... Typical!!

Finally got home from match at 11.30pm

Yep, it was ridiculous.  I hung a right at the southern bus station (jeez, how old am I?) roundabout and went through the town centre to come out near the college.  Took me 10 minutes to get home.

Are we suprised though.

Every single department of Doncaster Council employ a combination of incompetent, inept idiots who couldnt find their own arese with a mirror. If they were a private company they'd have long since gone into liquidation.

Their reputation precedes them time and time again.

Lets not get started on the fact there were no bulletins regarding the works on the radio or internet.

Also the council have spent thousands and thousands on those electronic signs in and out of the major routes in town. I don't think ive seen them used once.

So planned work...on a Tuesday night when a local derby is taking place + despite planned, no notification of works in any publication or on news bulletins etc.

Totally and utterly inept.

What next ?  Football on Saturday afternoons when alot of people are working or midweek games finishing at nearly 10 o clock when its school the following day.

I reckon they should do whatever they were doing in the middle of the day next time, rush hour would be a good time!
