Positively Pessimistic
« on March 18, 2012, 08:57:37 am by Bentley Bullet »
After donkey’s years of being a Rovers supporter, suffering more trauma than delight, I have almost perfected a technique of remaining sane. You could say the formula is paramount to kidding oneself, but it works for me!

Expect to lose every game – sometimes you’ll be right. You will have no come back from opposition fans because you've already suggested to them that your team would lose. Following a defeat you can say to yourself ‘OK so what, we lost, I expected it anyway, I predicted it! You will be much less disappointed.

You might say this technique is like a masochist never having to say he’s sorry. But it works.

Being optimistic, positive, glass half-full = frequent disappointment.

Being pessimistic, negative, glass half-empty = everything else is a bonus.
