Next season - contracts
« on April 09, 2012, 06:59:31 pm by hamiltonrover »
What existing squad members are under contract for next season?  I know those brought in by McKay will be away, but what about the old guard?  Also, haven't seen to much of Robert, but think he would hurt a lot of League 1 teams, any chance he will stay around?

Cheers

Being honest I'd only offer Gillett and Dumbuya a new contract, the rest can go.

Agreed. And possibly Paul Keegan as well if he can shake off his injury.

I was told a while back that Dumbuya will NOT be here next season, wants a move back down south.

Habib Beye wont be here next season either, infact he wont play for this club ever again.

It has become apparent that Habib Beye signed a 6 month deal with an option to extend (like we thought) but the club communicated the information poorly.

He does give his all but he is nowhere near good enough. Neither is Barnes and that is why we've been relegated. The worst Rovers midfield for 15 years was never addressed despite being identified as a massive weakness within Saunders' first month in charge

Saunders said last week that he'll talk new deals at the end of the season with one exception - DUmbuya he's talking with him already but others we've no decision on yet.

Does anyone know for sure if the current players under contract have relegation clauses written in?

I dread to think we will still be paying Martin Woods 5 or 6k a week to sit on his arse in league 1.

A few predictions from me.

El Hadji Diouf - will sign elsewhere- with a good signing fee which McKay will get a cut of.
Adam Lockwood - let go
James Hayter - let go
John Oster - offer new deal
Giles Barnes - will sign elsewhere
Simon Gillett - offer new deal
Sam Hird - offer new deal
Mustapha Dumbuya - will be let go (but i would keep)
Rachid Bouhenna - who?
Paul Keegan - let go
Pascal Chimbonda - let go- will go play for some team nobodys heard of and yet again McKay will profit.
Lamine Diatta - who? Will join the YMCA.
Habib Bamogo - who? Who, indeed! I expect he'll go back to france and do the square root of fcuk all.
Mamadou Bagayoko - probably leave but might do a job... Will do the same Bamogo.
James Chambers - let go should never have been given a new deal
James Baxendale - offer new deal
Oscar Radford - ?
Herita Ilunga (contract up already?) - get rid, a conference team might need a left back... He'll sign for some european side on a cushty contract that yet again McKay will profit from.

Keep:
Adam Lockwood
Simon Gillett
Sam Hird
Mustapha Dumbuya
Rachid Bouhenna
Paul Keegan
James Baxendale
Oscar Radford

Rebuild with a young squad.

Dumbuya tweeted something along the lines of he "feels like giving up" today, Saunders has handled him terribly and will ultimately be the reason he will leave.
