Looking to the future

http://www.sheffieldtelegraph.co.uk/sport/doncaster-rovers-gary-woods-looks-to-future-1-4435517

Accepts Rovers do not deserve to retain championship status

Hopes going forward will be part of long term plans

also still has another year left on his contract

IMO hope the lad fulfills his potential with us

just think we could maybe do with a more experienced goalie for next season though

but then again look at De Gea at man utd... was shaky and now had a run in the team is playing well so you never know

Be OK in 5-a-side. Too short to be a keeper with presence. Sorry Gary

Basso at Hull is out of contract this summer, suppose it depends on finances.

All keepers are the same size when they are laid flat out unless you count Big Nev in that scenario

I lost faith in the article at: "However, Woods, a graduate of the club’s youth system...."

It could be a different next season for him. By that i mean we could be doing better and that would mean winning more games=clean sheets=confidence. Could in truth be the making of him. We will see, one thing for sure though is he had a very good game on monday imo.

Basso? Behave...the man's pushing 40 if he hasn't reached it already for a start.

I'd like Woods to stay, but we do need a more experienced stopper signing this summer and I think it will be a transfer priority.

36. A year younger than Sullivan was when he signed a permanent deal... in League One.

The difference being Sullivan has been roundabout consistently a solid first team player upto the point we signed him, and without a hint of the attitude problems Basso has demonstrated. I forgot the man even existed, it's been about 4 years since he was considered a top goalkeeper in the English football league surely?

Admittedly I did think he was a bit older though. Then again I wouldn't be looking to sign a new goalkeeper over the age of 35 to compete for the spot WITH Neil Sullivan to be honest.

As a spectator he appears to me shaky, silent and with questionable positioning - so god only knows what the conveyor belt of defenders in front of him at any one time think. He needs to be more commanding and control his box much more forcefully.
