I've said it before and i'll say it again. Iain Turner. We should be going for him.

Tony Nielson thats was. Stuart was around in the conf days. Tony was 6-9 foot keeper and was brought in as a friend for Jan Budtz.

Wouldn't surprise me if it was true, but worries me if this is the level we're aiming at.

I think this IS the level we'll be aiming at, I'm afraid.

I do think Nelson is a better 'keeper now than he was when he was with us before. I seem to recall he was one of The Major's "discoveries" which might explain why we're looking to get him back.

He was only a young lad when he played for us before and now at 30 you would think he is at the peak of his career. Im not sure if he is the answer or not but I would rather have him in goal than Gary Woods!

Since leaving us he has turned out a pretty steady keeper in the lower leagues.

Just what we need. We can't keep giving goals away like the last year or so.

In isolation you're right, better than what we have, but given our recent defensive frailties I'd ask if he's commanding enough? No doubt hes a good shot-stopper but he's not the tallest or the beefiest. Ikeme may have made some high profile errors towards the end but overall I thought his presence and dominance of his box highlighted what we had been missing and I'd be inclined to look for a keeper of a similar mould.

If we are after him (i hope we are not) then lets pray that Chesterfield aren't in for him either.

How is he a lowly signing if we were to move for him? He is a decently rated keeper for the lower levels of the football league, some people need to wake up.

He made his mark after he left us and became a pretty decent keeper
