I used to use Twitter to tweet about football, and now found that it is a much better platform to shamelessly flirt with people, go instagram obsessed and tweet vodka/jager fueled ramblings.

I have absolutely no insight to offer on anything, just my own platform for amusement.

I do like to tweet and keep up on everything through the feed there.

@A_Stubbings is my handle. Pay no attention to the man in the profile picture sat in Goodison Park.

Facebook is terrible now!

I got rid of that ages ago and slowly worked my way over to twitter.

Facebook is far more  future proof, some of the things they have implemented and what they will in the future is fantastic for social media, nothing will ever over take it.

All about personal preference though isn't it - I hate the advertising that Facebook ram down your throats, at least on twitter you have far more control over what you see and whilst you get the odd promotional tweet it's far easier to control what you want to be exposed to.

Whilst nothing may overtake Facebook in terms of social media, it's value has massively declined and I think the only trend will be a downward one in that respect.

It was far better when it wasn't available to the general public and young kids - when it was universities and professional firms it was far more bareable

Facebook hasn't had a downward trend - it continues to grow, and for a business perspective, having a Facebook page is becoming just as important as having a website.

I've never seen the fixation of Twitter. Just seems a place to stalk celebrities. Facebook is a lot more diverse.

That's irrelevant really. In terms of users and accounts it is growing. Social media experts generally believe Twitter is a novelty which in a few years will probably decline in a similar way to Myspace. Twitter will probably diversify in similar way to Facebook to stop decline and keep itself fresh.

Absolutely haha, if you give me a reminder closer to the season I'll probably have material for you from every game :P

Got to say I do really like Twitter, it is a neat tool to use to interact with people and the celebrity aspect is fascinating too. I do still use Facebook a lot more but that is because it is my main outlet to talk to friends who are not close by and I also like the fact I can store my photos quite well on there.

But I use both, they serve different purposes for me so won't ever pick a side in a Facebook v Twitter debate!

I don't think you can compare the two when they have 2 completely different purposes. Facebook is to share with your fteinds and be shared with the same people. Twitter is where you can follow, or be followed. The good thing about Teitter in my opinion is the small word length, it cuts to the chase and everything people say has a ring to it. Primarily speaking the two have reached a mutual agreement.
