So what was this then?
http://www.doncasterroversfc.co.uk/page/News/0,,10329~2734524,00.html

In the 13th April edition of DROS:
Quote
"Rovers' manager Dean Saunders has started his rebuilding programme by handing five members of this season's successful youth team their first professional contracts. "

Sounds to me like they were signed up. But then it also says:
Quote
"Dean has offered five 1st year pro contracts to lucky members of the team."
So not really handed, but offered contracts?

And today it says:
Quote
"Jordan Ball has today signed his first professional contract with the club "

Either its a publicity stunt of slow release news - recycled from a few months ago, or we were misinformed by DROS.

It says he "Offered" contracts to the 5, not that they had signed. Also contracts run generally begining july to end june in football, so as stated from 1st july he is under contract.

It did say had handed contracts to them too... anyway I see Paddy Mullen has signed too and had pic taken with shirt, so guess they all have now formally completed what we were told in April.

It says they offered them a contract not signed so they are informing us of the correct facts

I wouldnt bet that all of them will sign. Wakefield is currently being looked at by Arsenal.

If he has any sence he will stay here. I know Arsenal have a world class set up, but look at all the youngster's that move to big clubs never to be seen again. He will have a chance of making the first team here.

Wouldn't we be due some compensation if any were to go elsewhere (if we have offered them pro-contracts, of course)? I would probably be a pittance but I hope we don't lose any good prospects for bugger all!

Good luck to Jordan. Let's hope we have produced another Billy Sharp.
