Van Persie

24m far too much for him. 1 world class season and many injury hit ones. Kick in the teeth for arsenal who stood by him.

Footballers eh.

£24m buys you goals and RvP knows how to deliver them by the net full.

Not a bad price for someone who's nearly 30

arsenal will probably go buy 2 quality players with that now

Maybe they already have them Podolski & Giroud....

And as for 24m, they have obviously met how much arsenal wanted. Wenger knows what he is doing.

I heard he'd failed a medical today due to a long term back injury. Caused by carrying Arsenal  Football Club all last season.  :coat:

£24m for a plyer with 2-3 years ahead of him in Prem at the most with no sell on value.
Short term and overpriced in my opinion.
Don't ever let me hear Fergie say that City or anyone else have tried to buy the Prem title after this

I make the point now that we got peanuts for Billy when he had 18 month left on his contract. That £1.8million was an absolute scandal.

I'll be honest, I didn't see that coming. Half expected him to go to Spain but not move within the Premiership. I suppose he wants that league title.

Good money for Arsenal though. Podolski and Giroud for AvP. Not a bad deal from Wengers point of view, especially when AvP was clearly on his way out anyway. The last thing any team wants is a player that doesn't want to be there.

Sick of bloody armchair Arsenal fans whinging about how disloyal he is.

Maybe they ought to try supporting a lower league club where your best players get nicked all the time without seemingly showing any loyalty. Loyalty very very rarely comes into football outside the world's 'elite' clubs (where players are only loyal because they get paid shit loads), so I don't see why Arsenal should be exempt from that.

I think this is a great signing for Man Utd, great for the player who obviously wants a change and a great price for Arsenal - win win win all round for the lot of them I think.

He didn't when The Sarge showed him what a tackle was.

A week or so ago Arsenal had a 29 year old Van Persie, with less than 12 months on his contract and no intention of extending.

They now have Cazorla and an extra £9m in the bank. They have done very very well.

Torres-50m
Carroll-35m
RVP-24m
Not bad business all round for me. Don't think Man U could have got anyone better, plus they couldnt let their biggest rivals City have him. Good fee for Arsenal, seen as he's made it clear he doesn't want to play for them and he's only got a year left.
Who gives a flying duck anyway, There's no one greater than Billy Paynter!!

Ryan Giggs has vowed to treat Robin van Persie like his brother, after meeting the Dutchman's wife today
