I understand where you're coming from. You'll be pleased to know that after intense analysis of every game that I watched on TV last season I found that there was an amazing correlation. The team that had the most attempts on goal also had the most chances! What a surprise!

Your argument is fundamentally flawed. Granted, there are occasions when the attempts on goal stat does not reflect the true number of chances in a game. However, based on my records it does on 93.68% of occasions. Fact.

I don't think Saunders wants us to have less attempts on goal. All I'm saying is that based on what happened last season, our possession stats were piss poor and this also led to our attempts on goal stats being piss poor as well. I'm just praying that he doesn't fall into the same trap again this season. Based on the evidence of the firts game and his comment that he is happy for the opposition to have possession in their own half I am extremely worried he hasn't learnt the lesson from last season.

Just because you do not agree with someone's thoughts really shouldn't mean you have to resort to the child in you by calling him names. This forum looks more and more like a one party state these days.

I must admit I've thought about walking away more than once. It's a good job I've got a thick skin. I try not to be abusive to others and just wish they would do me the same courtesy.

Bob, it's nothing to do with intolerance. Mjdgreg clearly doesn't want to be part of this community and has set himself apart from it at every opportunity. I can take people with alternative views when they listen to mine. I do, however, object to wind-up merchants spamming the board with repetitive diatribe.

Nope. I knew plenty of cricketers back in the day, but I allus referred to them by a variety of four letter Anglo-Saxon epithets whilst playing against them.

a 75% success rate from shots on goal
