Did you by any chance go on that railway that takes you to Whitby? we went there last summer and it was lovely, if a little expensive.

I'd recommend the journey if you can afford it next time BB. Lovely scenery and lovely old trains, cracking day at the seaside too if you go right the way through.

I`m sure there was a train sign like that on the wall just inside the players entrance at old BV

As you might expect,  the train had 2 of them. I believe one was auctioned off and JR has the other. There is a replica near inside the KMS near the player's tunnel.

As Rob says the one above the Keepmoat Entrance is a replica (for how much its worth no one would paint the red and white stripes.) Unlike other teams there was only ever one Doncaster Rovers train, with 2 signs either side. John Ryan has one, and I doubt he is in a hurry to get rid of it, so whoever posesses this holds probably the most unique piece of Rovers Memoribilia.

The other one - the one JR doesn't own - was inside BV for ages and ages. But sometime in the early 80's, I think, the club was so broke it auctioned or sold it off to raise some cash. Don't know who bought it, but if that one in the picture at the top of the thread is an original, then it's the one that used to be inside BV. And it's cost tens of thousands to get it back too.... :(

This is the site for the locomotive shed shop. i think the price quoted is for the smaller nameplates though.
