Drove to the Tesco yesterday and looks like the link road to White Rose Way has been marked out for construction?

Only 11 years after I moved there and was promised it was imminent!

(I moved away again nearly 4 years ago)

Not read about it going ahead anywhere so I was surprised when I saw it. Should solve a lot of traffic problems.

I hear it might only be open to buses in the first instance.

All I can see is traffic being diverted away from the town centre (which is not a bad thing in it's own right), but I cannot see it having to great an effect on Bawtry Rd and York Rd.

About time too. It's a pain in the arse getting to the motorway from there at busy times. It will alleviate a lot of traffic, especially when they get the M18 link to the lakeside finally sorted.

I movedto the Plantation ten years ago next month. Like KS I was told the road building was "imminent" at the time. I'll be putting my flat on the market very soon (at a very reasonable price, folks!) so I expect it to be complete just as I'm moving out!

Unless they build a slip road round onto the A6182 it could be a nightmare at B&Q roundabout with volume of traffic going to the motorway trying to squeeze between cars queueing to get into town on a morning.

They're widening that whole stretch aren't they? Shouldn't be much trouble.

They are widening it, I just hope that it makes the B&Q roundabout more like a motorway junction with slip roads on and off as it's already tricky some mornings getting ontot the M18 with inbound traffic blocking the entry from Carr Hill side.

It is all to be controlled by lights so plenty of stop starts

The roundabout is no more. It was demolished and now just exists as cones. It'll just be a junction controlled by lights. They said the first phase should be done by November, doesn't look far off which is better than expected given the delays they experience last Christmas due to the weather.
