Sky tv money

Does it go to the home team (Leeds last night) of is it split between the teams playing?

Just wondered like.

Yes, goes to the home team.  Its to allow for the slightly lower gate due to some fans choosing to watch on the telly.  Everton (in your example) will just get their share of the pot from the gate receipts from all games played in the round.

£125K sounds like the figure Gavin Baldwin mentioned at the VSC Meeting. He reckoned it would get us a player for a season.

Of course we need to get through tonight, get a home tie and opponents that Sky will want to screen- which probably means one of half-a-dozen Prem clubs.

By the way, if we get through tonight then we WILL 100% draw Leeds United...

The draw is fixed to just wind me up, purposely.

you joke, but us v Leeds always seems to get televised, so provided there's no massively high profile draws that isn't a bad shout..

besides, they don't do it to wind you up - they do it to troll us all

I can't see Leeds V Rovers being televised this time round unfortunately... There is bound to be more 'appealing' matches in the next round than little ol' rovers.

If we do draw Leeds though, then i demand a replay of the Leeds V Everton match immediately!! If Leeds keep winning the tie, then punish them with expulsion from the competition, with Everton taking their place in the next round (V us)  :P :silly:

It would more likely be televised if we played a prem club, as we would surely be one of the smallest clubs left in the competition

You actually get more for being shown on Tv than you do for winning the competition. Liverpool won £100,000 last year when they won it.

If thats correct then no wonder no body takes it serious. It wants scrapping along with the uefa cup then the fa cup might be taken more serious.

The only thing it is good for is a route into Europe for clubs.

Don't forget its a potential money spinner for smaller clubs - just one of the ways the money trickles into the lower leagues. I'd prefer it were more forcibly taken from the top clubs, but...

And as we know, getting a prem team draw is good publicity for the club. I'll bet there's still a few fans coming along that were originally spurred on by that run.
