A rovers fan did get on finally but was ushered off in around 25 seconds, obviously Andy Giddens was far more concerned with his mate Dave Jones getting the sack and returned to talk at length to Wednesday fans saying the same thing over and over....
Unfortunately we'll only get a mention if someone supporting Rovers rings in! Interesting interview with David Jones though - good listening!

It was a good interview and imo if they take the decision to ''hound'' him out then it will confirm what I've always thought about Wendies............they are ALL mad.As for us I would prefer it if we remained under the radar just for now . It's a long hard slog to the finishing line. Jeez wasn'tn it freezsing tonight or am I becoming old and nesh ?
Yep, sadly you only tend to hear 1-2 Rovers fans a show, if we're lucky. Sheffield has two big clubs that draw 15,000-20,000 fans a game. Our biggest home attendance in the modern era is 15,000. It is a bit annoying that we don't get much coverage but LINCrover is bang on, it's a vicious cycle because the majority are Sheffield fans, so Rovers fans get pissed off that we're not getting coverage and then don't listen/ring up.To be honest I bet they're rubbing their hands at all the pissed off Owls fans, nothing quite captures the attention like a manager possibly getting the chop. Phone lines will be heaving tomorrow.

Phone lines will be heaving tomorrow. That is another good point to consider, the number of fans that go to Blades/Wednesday fans is much greater than our attendance figures at the minute, and therefore there are going to be more people ringing up about their games than ours.Another thing for tonight, when a team is doing well like we are, I don't think people want to ring up a radio show and say we were good. They want to talk to their mates and other Rovers than, bask in the glory if you will. Phoning up for a good moan on the other hand, get some worries off your chest and points across, maybe put some questions in the head of the man that is going to be interviewing the gaffer seems like a much better reason for ringing radio sheff on the way home. Just a thought?Personally think Trax FM should be pushing to get better access to DRFC if it is at all possible? Not match commentary, but someone at the game and then hosting a praise/grumble type show after the game. Is this something that could be looked at?

Match updates are fine, if that's what they provide. Why not utilise it so much further, how high can their listening figures be on a Tuesday night anyway?I have interviewed Paul Mayfield before for a radio piece I worked on at university last year, and he can speak very well. He could get to the studio from the KM in minutes, give a much more detailed talk on the game and other issues. Then they could encourage fans to phone/text/tweet their opinions, to push the debate further. Seems to me like an obvious link to make between a VERY local station and the football club. If the reason is that their is nobody around to take the show on, I'll do it.
