Heart says KK or SOD but realism says Brown.

Please can you add "other" to the vote?  And this is only my opinion, but can you delete Cotterill - he is a complete Kitson and I would struggle to support him, and that goes against my principle of supporting whoever the club appoints :(

Going by past form and the way JR seems to work, it won't be any of them and will be a L2 or non-league manager on his uppers.

Knowing JR's previous,It could well be a relatively unknown name and non of them in the vote.

I'd Love mark robins, he was the ideal man after Sean IMO likes to play football but also adds that needed grit.
I can't see us getting him from Coventry though,
Perhaps a short term deal for brown or Allen?

I'd like Eddie Howe, but like robins and Coventry,I doubt he would leave Bournemouth at the minute.

Yup, he moved down south because of personal issues. Doubt he would come back up north, let alone to Donny.

What about Keith Hill? Always quite liked him despite being in charge of those down the road

1. Rob Jones/Robbie Blake/ Brian Carey/ Brian Flynn
2. Steve Nicol
3. Eddie Newton
4. Baltemar Brito
5. Mickey Walker

This list is frankly hilarious.

Some names on that poll I don't ever want to come near this club - Cotterill, Ince, Billy Davies. All are cretins of the highest order.

My vote goes to Other cos I'd like someone like Nicky Barmby or a young upstart from L2 perhaps. Of those on the list I'd be happy with Phil Brown.

I doubt he'd leave Bournemouth at all. The main reason he went back there was to be back on the south coast where his family is. There's not a chance in hell that he'd come up to Doncaster.

Plus, Bournemouth paid very good money to get him there - over £1 million I think. We don't have that sort of money to pay for a manager. And he has great resources there and a very good squad, so I don't think he'd leave even if we could afford him.

I think Phil Parkinson and Graeme Jones might be the best of the bunch for me.Would want to seriously consider Parky and Find out IF Jones is interested in a step up to Manager?

I would like to see a Rovers connection.

What about Brian Deane? currently learning his trade in Norway.

Steve Nicol would be a very popular choice and has managerial experience.

Gary Brabin would be a fun choice. I am kidding though.

Glyn Snodin, been there, done it as a number two.

Greame Jones, good apprenticeship in the PL.

LFW, wouldn't have to pay him a relocation package, things are tight remember.

This thread does show the fans have no clear preference. Hope the board have a better idea!

:crying: Without sounding like an idiot- what's wrong with it?

The last two managers were "outside the box" choices, what about this time?

1. Would minimise disruption and so we should be able to carry momentum. The last two are obviously more appropriate than the first two, but we did try the player option with Penney, and that did us no harm.
2. Ex-Rover. Did well in the USA, currently without a club.
3. Often with assistant managers you don't know how much of an influence they have. Newton has done well as assistant to Di Matteo. Also the media often criticises the lack of black managers, so I'd feel proud for us to give one a go.
4. Baltemar Brito was part of the coaching staff at Chelsea with Jose, Steve Clarke and AVB. Potentially another gem.
5. Like many on here I just love the man, and I would love him to be successful, especially here.

For me it would be dave Penney

Interim position for 6 months then see where we are. He knows the club, knows the league and most importantly would have a collection of players that play his style. The last thing we need is a complete change in philosophy which is going to take time to adapt to

Agreed. I was surprised to hear he'd even gone down that far, being such a good manager.

(it is the same Boothroyd once of Watford yes? :chair:)

Owen Coyle would carry on where Saunders left off and take us on to the next level.

Phil Brown would be my second choice. Did a good job at Bolton temporarily, then Hull and not too bad at Preston to be fair, especially considering where they find themselves now.  Always like listening to his opinion on the game.

Was thinking of Kenny Shiels last night. He may be a good bet.
