We were so unlucky that season. Bremner put together an astonishingly potent side, with the best of Beaglehole's youth squad and a bunch of nobodies like Eddie Gormley, David Jones, Jonny Muir, Kevin Noteman and the two old mesters, Ormsby & Ashurst minding the shop. The first half of the season and especislly those first 5 games were bloody amazing. We started like a whirlwind and Jones & Muir looked like they'd steamroller the division.

Then the two of them got injured, we limped on for a while and finally collapsed. Must have taken a huge chunk out of Bremner's lust for footballing life.

I remember Norwich dropping from second at Christmas to relegation in the Premier League.

Did'nt John Toshacks Swansea do something similar in the old First division or Division one or whatever the Prem was called then?
