We Tried, We Failed.

Said all along it wouldnt work at a home game and in my opinion it failed massively!

People haven't got time or equipment for making masks. Club should provided and maybe charged a nominal amount to cover costs or give to charity. It was a total none event

I only saw two or three with masks, which is a shame.

Still should do an unofficial one for Scunny away, and maybe organise for someone to print a f**k load off in return for costs being covered (maybe the VSC could do some for £1 a piece or something, I don't know about costs on that front).

It was pathetic. Matched the performance.

Scunny away would be better, as many have said. I suppose folk were too impatient to wait.

When this was first mentioned, it seemed everyone agreed an away game would be better.

Went down like a shit sandwich today. As expected.

Who said pride comes before a fall? Was it Retford Rovers? It was a complete waste of time and predictably we fell flat on our faces on the pitch. I said before it wasn't a clever idea. Did we ever have an Alick Jeffrey day, or a Colin Douglas day or a Francis Tierney day during the season? For goodness sake can we stop getting in front of ourselves. Rob Jones has been brilliant but he's only been here two minutes. The proper time to celebrate how well players have done is the end of the season.

I couldn't agree more, hopefully that's the end of this nonsense. Time to get Rob and our team focussed for the task in hand. When/if they do the business then we can look at hero worship , for the moment automatics are a long way off on current form. :(

I was shocked to see a few people with masks on as I thought we we're doing it at Scunny away???

It just seemed a bit cheesy to do it at home, almost like we can't generate a good atmosphere without having one of these days (I know we can't anyway, but it just goes to show...) anyway, it just seemed a bit Americanised to me and I'm almost pleased it went un-noticed.

Would have been a whole different  story if we did it at Scunny though, especially seen as he played for them.

Like I said, we shouldn't be doing it anyway.
Let Rob Jones concentrate on getting the defence back to what it was before the last two games.

It was embarrassing, i took 4 masks that i spent all morning making, gave 3 away to random kids and besides us i didn't see one other mask on display.

I wore mine and did feel a bit stupid as no one else around me was, but at least I got my photo taken with Captain Fantastic and a signed photo. And it made the day of the 3 kids who were also wearing them and got to meet him.

Later at the start of the game I saw more wearing them, but the whole thing was a damp squib.

Not being funny but when i heard about the Rob Jones Day i thought it was a bit strange. Although Jones has been excellent and integral to our position, he has still only been here since August less than 6 months. Maybe a James Coppinger Day may have been more productive after all he has been a loyal servant for 9 years (only went on loan to reduce the wage bill).
