Oldham loan players
« on February 16, 2013, 06:34:16 pm by mrfrostsdad »
Oldham front three tonight: two from the Premier League and one from the Championship. All on loan.
Can't we do that?
Yes, Oldham have had a good cup run, but presumably they are well strapped for cash?

Just heard on the commentary that Oldham are so strapped for cash they cannot afford to buy the balls for FA Cup games (different balls to league games apparently) so they've borrowed some from the teams they've knocked out this season!!
So, how do they afford three strikers on loan from Premier League and Championship clubs?

They've also banned the players from swapping shirts cos they can't afford to keep buying a f**k load of them apparently.

Have you ever thought that we can't get the loans that we require? What's the point in signing someone on loan for the sake of it if they aren't the right player for the team?  Anyone can loan a player but it has to be done within the clubs boundaries

Emile Sinclair is not a bad player at our level.  He's not shown it yet for us, maybe he just doesn't fit?

No, perhaps they are not paying their wages. Barnard, Iwelumo and Obita (i think that's how you spell it!) not bad in League 1.
Still come back to my original question!

Maybe it is a case of who knows who?  Yes BF will have a myriad of contacts but some folks may be pulling in favours from friends?

They 've done really well, it's time we had a proper cup run again with 'plum' draws..
