Oldest ever team
« on March 08, 2013, 01:50:20 pm by donnymatty »
As a bit of fun I have tried to come up with our oldest ever team, past and present at the time they played for us. There are probably older players but this is what I have come up with;

Sullivan (42)
Alan Wright (35)
Richard Naylor (36)
Habib Beye (34)
Andy Griffin (33)
Robbie Blake (36)
Kevin Horlock (35)
John Ryan (53)
John Oster (33)
Paul Barnes (35)
Don Goodman (37)

Wasnt Alan Worboys about 65 when he came back for his second spell? (possible exaggeration there)

Robbie Blake is older than Barnes isn't he? And they fit the same mould (in lots of ways)

36/37,Surprised to see he's still only 57 and working as a taxi driver! Remember when he played for Newport County(league status and ground Gone but not forgotten) and that was he fourth club.

I think Ernie moss was about 34/35.

Chris Balderstone 35. He was still only 34 though when he became the only person to play professional cricket and professional football on the same day when he turned out for us against Brentford in 1975.

Notts County are the oldest club in the league but Sheffield FC are the oldest club in the world.

Winston White White White was getting on a bit when he had a short but very productive loan spell at Belle Vue.
