If they're able to play they're not just going to give us 3 points...

Free Radio had been told to expect an official announcement at some point today – but that is now said to be ‘unlikely’.

On Tuesday the High Court in London said Coventry City Football Club is in administration.

Technically only part of the club was put into administration, by itself, on Thursday the 21st.

But the court decided that was the part which owned what is called the ‘golden-share’ – effectively the licence to run a club in the football league.

As a result the club faces at least a 10 point deduction and possibly more.

Meanwhile there are also questions about whether the Sky Blues will still play their remaining three home matches of the season at the Ricoh.

They are supposed to be playing Doncaster at the stadium on Friday and administrator Paul Appleton has said time is running out for the club and stadium to decide where that match will happen.

The police have said they can't play elsewhere. The landlords say the Ricoh is available, so the issue must be something else.

As the company which holds the golden share (the right to participate) is in admin, and subject to a transfer embargo, and as the separate company which owns the players registrations owns no right to take part, they are between a rock and a hard place.

As a guess, it would appear that they may not be able to field a team of players registered to the correct company. As all their previous games this season have been under the same arrangements, then they may be in breach of competition rules on fielding unregistered players, on an industrial scale.

All of which is in additiion to possibly trading while technically insolvent, which is lurking in the background.

Spot on Albie.

The owners of CCFC, through a desire to compartmentalise the risk and liability and basically dodge their responsibilities, are guilty of gross incompetence.  There may not be a Coventry City in a week or two.

Good questions Albie.

Just monitoring their forums and their fans are as much in the dark, pontificating when the transfer of the golden share took place. Some think it was a while ago and some think it was more recently.

However, it appears the administrator and ACL are still in talks at this late hour trying to strike a deal that will enable the game to go ahead on Friday and for their remaining games.

You just can't imagine why the talks should be so 'delicate' at this stage as all parties are in the shit, so does it really matter who get's what revenue from the remaining games?

At this stage is doesn't look like the FL are directly involved at the moment.

I'm guessing they will sort out a compromise but the sordid affair will no doubt rage on (hopefully after we've got 3 points in the bag!)
