One year on........we really deserve this!

Well, its the first saturday we've all got up for ages and theres no DRFC game to go and watch or listen to.

Got me thinking this morning how far we've come in the last 12 months.  This time last year we made an exit from the Championship without much of a fight.  Since we walked out of the stadium after the game against Ipswich, it feels as though our club has turned full circle.

We've had the start of the 'In Rovers We Trust' project.  The Rovers now feels to me like a family club again and the fan engagement has been first class.  Makes me feel like we have our club back.

We now have the long term lease on the stadium.  Again this now feels like OUR stadium.  Its begining to be decorated in Rovers memorabillia and history and now feels like a HOME.

All of the board and the management at the club could have just sat around and felt sory for themselves 12 months ago.  Lots of other clubs have (Wolves for example).  Instead, they have all worked really hard to put together a squad who want to work hard and want to be a success.  This hard work and commitment has resulted not only in promotion, but us being League One CHAMPIONS.

All of the above combined has got us where we are today.  Everyone at the club has pulled together to make this possible.  John Ryan, Dean Saunders, Brian Flynn, Gavin Baldwin, Mal Purchase, Silent Majority, the VSC Directors Lee Croft etc, the ticket office staff, the club shop staff, and last of all US the fans.

Well done one and all.  The Rovers are back!

This season, on and off the pitch, has exceeded everything that we thought possible. When we first sat down and sketched out the IRWT project we didn't think we could make so many changes in such a short space of time, we have and we did. Now we just have to do it again.
