£765  :crying:

Apparently it needs a new dual mass flywheel as well, £350 approx for that part alone!

Ouch!

option 1      Accept being ripped off ( unless it's a joke)
option 2      Look for a reasonable alternative (stuck with dealership?)
option 3      Swap the car for something else - but check the costs of major replacement parts
and labour charges before deciding  :pinch:
option 4      Have a good weep and carry on  :crying: :chair:

That sounds about right for a dual mass flywheel. Most are 400 plus

If you have taken it to a normal garage try get a price from a gearbox specialist as they may do it cheaper as they do them day in day out

Garages hate doing them as they tie a ramp up for half a day and in that time they can do two if not three services in that time and make more profit

It's already in the garage stripped down, when you take away the cost of the DM flywheel the price is a little lower than I thought it would be. Apparently the 1.6HDI 110 bhp as the DM flywheel, the 2.0HDI 90 bhp does n't

I had to get mine done on our Ford Galaxy, cost us about £450. I think the labour was only £200.

Filo.

I use SM Auto Services who is a mobile mechanic from Goldthorpe, ie. he'll come to you and do any work on your driveway, and he's very competitive price wise.

He is a citroen specialist, stamps service books etc.

Just had our Full manufacturers service on a 2004 Citroen Picasso 2.0 HDI, including MOT (which it sailed through again) - £135.

Last year he also renewed out timing belt, auxillary belt and fitted a new water pump for £282.

Chaps called Steve, and his mobile number is 07976 702834 if its any use to you.
