Several years ago, I was with the family at Epcot when a lady approached my daughter (who was playing in a fountain in her Rovers shirt), and asked her if she liked Donny Rovers.
She replied, "Of course! Do you?"
"You could say that," she said, "Mickey Walker's my father-in-law!"

Only Rovers fans I've come across over here in 12 years, and it's Mickey Walker's family.

Small World indeed.

In 1979 me and two mates went to Benidorm. First night out we went in a bar and it was empty apart from three birds. Because of the lack of competition we chatted them up. Fortunately they were more naive than us, and our 'experience' in chatting up impressed them!

We asked them where they were staying, and guess what, they were in the same hotel as us!

We asked them where they were from, and guess what, amazingly they were from Doncaster!

Now the one I got off with (Forgot her name) said she worked in the Leeds building society in High street, Doncaster. I told her that I was a professional musician (I was lying).

I know that she told the truth though because when I met my future wife a couple of years later we opened an account at the Leeds building society in Doncaster, and who should serve us..........Yes it was her. Now either she had a poor memory, or she was a bloody good actor because she never showed any signs that she knew me.

We used the Leeds society for several years after that and she always seemed to serve us.

Although I haven't seen her for a few years now, I must admit she was getting on a bit last time I saw her and was starting to look a bit rough. It was obvious she hadn't looked after herself. Maybe she was just embarrassed that at least I'd made an effort.

Much poolside transfer speculation was had by all.

Happy days, Moses. Menoraca this year if you haven't yet booked.

Missed you by a year. We were there last year Talaylot appartments Cal'n'Forcat I think the resort was. Good place for us every bar had a kids playground.
Going over to the dark side this year with an all inclusive family hotel in Portugal.

Sorry RTR

I too find once you think of it its hard to shift

Went to visit a mate years ago who packed in and went to live there with young kid. Went to meet them from School first day there and he said "don't blame me for the music that they play at kicking out time". Sure enough out they came to the instrumental version of Small Small World !

Also I met a family one year in Spain somewhere and there were 2 Grandparents 2 Parents and 2 kids and the kids were giving me their toys and generally wanting me to play football etc. Grandad says my god you are honoured they usually blank people.

Exactly 1 year later we went on the same week to a totally different place abroad somewhere and at breakfast on the first morning there they all were. I told them where I planned to be the following year but of course I never saw them again

Was in Sussex last week and went into the Tourist Information centre in Arundel.
The man on the desk asked where we were from as he recognised the accent. Turns out he worked for DMBC for 17 years before he retired down south and lived round the corner from the wife's parents in Bessacarr.

Once in Corsica .. a guy asked where I was from I told him the town ( in France ) .. OK what part .. told him .. what street ... told him .. what number ... told him ... ok I don't know it !!!

Brian. Just a thought. You didn't come home to find the house had been cleaned out did you?

I once read (Daily Mail most like) that burglary gangs used to snoop round airport baggage drop off places looking for address tags on suitcases. So they knew that folk were going to be away and houses empty.

I got wise to it. I started putting the address of a complete t**t that I used to work with on my luggage.
