Are they playing the 1st round midweek, or on a saturday like last season?

IDM, it should be midweek. Last season's Saturday availability was thanks to the late start to the league season due to the Olympics

Well the season kicks off on the 3rd August and we have a friendly on the 27th July so unless its going to be on the 10th I doubt it will be a Saturday.

Remember as well it is a seeded draw so we will be playing a League 1 or 2 club.

It is taking place first midweek of the season. The draw is not live on TV, it is just being revealed next Monday morning.

Hopefully an away trip to a little League One side.

Bramall Lane anyone? ;)

Half of the sides in League 1 will also be seeded based on last seasons final table, so the Blunts will be one of the seeded sides it seems.

Then what is the point in seeding?, unless its a North South thing, surely that doesn't require seeding, just a map!

That's relatively simple. Start at the northernmost and southernmost teams then go towards the midlands until there's an equal amount in both sets I'd imagine.

The point is so that the better clubs have a better chance of going through. I think it is too unfair to not only seed the draw but make every seeded team automatically at home. Hardly any chance for lower league clubs to go through at all. As far as I know they alternate the seeds home/away throughout the draw.

So, how does this seeding thing work?. Am I right in saying that there are a couple of "Championship" clubs in the first round ( DRFC, BABAFC,YTFC excepted ), so the sides in round 1 that are in the Championship are seeded, then maybe top half league 1, and top portion of L2.

Could see it being Bradford as we have preseason friendly the last game before the new season starts - just like our 3 games against Oldham last season!
