Safe standing is one step closer!

After the recent FL meeting the consideration of safe standing was put to the vote, with the majority in favour. One more obstacle cleared;

Excellent, though that picture sems to demonstrate that standing could reduce capacity if the larger ones opt for it.

If you sit down, does the metalwork obscure your view?

it doesnt no.

but this isnt going to change anything really, just another fad, harking to the olden days of football that are long gone.

dont see the fascination really.

It's about choice and much more.

I agree fully Baz. Standing up is a rare treat now. Brentford was a classic example.

That and it's safer than standing in an all seater which many people do, which again comes back to choice.

It made that amazing day even better.

The most attractive away fixture for any football supporter last season was Peterborough Utd, and for one reason only, the standing terrace.

Unless the metalwork is removable it would obscure the view for small people who are sat, but its a standing area anyway.

Those days rocked, a little hairy on the mega terraces maybe, but overall it was a feast of an event that the sterile plastic seated alcohol free version can't even fantasise about.

The height of the rails are dependant on several factors, not least the rake of the terrace. The obscure issue is never across the whole of the pitch, no matter any size of individual, the only area that might not be visible would be the near touchline.

But absolutely agree with BRR on his points, modern football and its current sterile atmosphere will never reach the heights that we experienced in our younger days.
