its a scam we asked but they wouldn`t give us a pen unless we gave loads of details and agreed to receive a pack

Of course and we started with a threadbare squad , try that this year 'Mr.Positive' and we're fooked from day1 at this level.

Why we fooked? If we sign the right players 2 weeks before the season starts ill be delighted.
No point in making signings for the sake of it, not even starting pre season for a couple of weeks.

That was over a week ago. I say again, can they whittle a pencil between them? Waiting two weeks before the season starts isn't what was 'planned'

And any rush would be to get out of contract players we want to keep before they get other offers

But also was a bit concerned at the time that it was just manager bollox, as I'm hard pushed to imagine an interview where the reporter puts the interviewee's comments in brackets...like this paragraph...

How do you talk in brackets? You only write things using brackets, so that smacks of a statement and not an interview.

We've made some of our best signings just before the season started, mcindoe for one and jones last year.
He's said what he wants to do, therefore how do we know that that's not what he's doing?
All the players were after will have other clubs interested in them, they'll be on holiday, etc etc,
We have no idea how far down the line we are with players, so lets just wait and see.. It's the 12th of June not 20th July.

Course that isn't too late, I'm just pointing out that we haven't signed ANYONE yet, despite the blurb from the manager about new contracts being signed this week and the players on the hit list. As I say, time ticks slowly by, panic buys are usually the ones left after everyone else has their pick.

We don't know, nobody does. We may sign 3 tomorrow.
Why worry about something being too late when it isn't too late yet?? Time to worry is in 2 or 3 weeks if we still haven't signed any of our own players on or nobody new. Then we shit ourselves.
Our panic buys last year were very good then..
Also not sure why you think it's managers blurb, they may be waiting to announce all 9 together, I predict most are already signed up

Haha I aint gonna fall out with you, I hope you are right.  I'm usually positive but last season was an exception in terms of who we signed late on. Apart from Macca I don't remember many other late signings being influential before or since, but I do remember lots of dross that came here cos we were the last chance saloon. A while to go yet, but hey, I wasn't the one who said it was going to be soon for news on signings, so why the silence from officialdom?
