Martin woods.....
« on June 12, 2013, 08:47:16 pm by Spankster »
weighing up trials at Bristol with SOD & ipswitch

Decent player but unlucky with injuries.

'The former Leeds and Rotherham midfielder is confident he can get his career back on track after Italian experts prescribed an orthodontic solution - including wearing a dental brace - to effectively re-align his body.'

Seems a strange way to repair a groin injury?

Good luck Martin

Make or break for him unfortunately, sounds like he is giving it his best shot seeking overseas diagnosis/assistance

Really hope it comes good for him.

A sign of someone clutching at straws, perhaps?

SO'D taking a risk again? Been there done that but hey, overall no gripes with Woods when fit AND playing in the right position. Still for me, the scorer of the best team goal I have ever seen Rovers score.

Good luck.

No doubt a gifted player, but I can't see Sean taking a chance on him unless there are photos. Who would employ someone who has been off sick for three years (give or take)? Shame but getta proper job lad, or live off yer bird's tits income, no shame in that.

Perennially injured and therefore a prime SOD signing. He will make him vice captain to his captain Shelton Martis.

It might have been 3 times more for us, but three times not very much is still not very much. Shame as said, good player, but not able to keep fit enough to play at pro level.  Maybe iz bird wore im out. Wouldn't be the first.

he's giving him a trial? It's hardly taking a chance. Sometimes you give players a trial as a favour to help them get some fitness up over the summer and pre-season.

A dental brace for a groin problem? I've heard of root canal work but that's one hec of a deep root!

In all seriousness, good luck Woodsy.

When you were 'on song', you made it look easy.

Played 90 odd games in how long? 5, 6 years?
Anyone else with a 'sick record' like his would have been sacked from their place of employment years ago!
Good luck to him and anyone who signs him on. Really glad he's gone, because however much he earned with us over the years he sure didn't earn most of it!

It's a wonder Steve Brooker is not having a trial (unlucky guy where is he now)
Seriously hope MW gets sorted (despite that penalty at St James Park) unfortunate but we can't afford to carry passengers as we have in the past
