Sheffield Pubs

Any pub recommendations for Sheffield for a Saturday night. I only know the Sheffield Tap and the Showroom Cinema bar opposite the station.

We are going to see a band on Matilda Street so any pubs for a drink or two beforehand and some dad dancing afterwards would be appreciated.

Royal standard is not bad like 5 mins away from Matilda street. Champs in eccelsall road is better but further away

Most of the decent proper old pubs have vanished in the last few years, but the Lord Nelson is a proper spit and sawdust place, just off Matilda St.

Been a while since I've been in but Fanny used to lay on ham sarnies and chip butties of an evening for nowt.

Recommend Rutland Arms on corner of brown Street/Furnival Street (just past the Student Union and Spearmint Rhino) - good beers, not full of w**kers

Also Red Lion on Charles Street
