Yorkshire Post Today
« on June 20, 2013, 04:28:26 pm by Crowle Rover »
At the top of the front page there is a "Football Fixtures for our teams" headline with a picture of a Hull player.
Fair enough as they are the regions only premier league club.
Then there are four club badges Leeds,Huddersfield,Owls and bleeding Blades!!
Since when does a division 1 team take precedent over 2 championship clubs?
And what about Bradford and Rotherham who are also in division 1?
I know you may think this is whinging a bit but surely ourselves and Barnsley are in Yorkshire and of higher standing than the blunts therefore our club crests should be on the feature.
Rant over!

Leeds will always feature highly in the YP, for the simple reason it's a Leeds newspaper.
I did read the full article inside the paper and we did get a decent few lines, which for the YP is pretty good

Got to love that rag.

Have a look at the headline here
http://m.yorkshirepost.co.uk/sport/football/doncaster/transfer-round-up-hull-blades-doncaster-huddersfield-leeds-barnsley-1-5718546

Then have a look at the content. And see what you think.

Ha! Hadn't noticed that! I was referring to the fact that the headline included "Leeds" and in the main text it had "Leeds" in bold. But the only reference to "Leeds" in the transfer news was the fact that another team was putting a bid in for a player who had briefly played for them. Anything to get "Leeds" into the story.

You can picture the editorial meetings.

"Sales slipping lads. Got to get "Leeds" into more stories. I want you to write the weather forecast like this: Weather in LEEDS today is going to be overcast. As in "grey". And Eddie Gray used to play for LEEDS." And in the media section, we have a story on Film REVIEws. All stories about criminal cases must mention CLARKE of the Court." Etc, etc, etc...

.... that and Hull's attempts to sign Celtic striker Gary 'son of Dennis' Hopper.
