Doncaster Belles Appeal Today
« on June 25, 2013, 09:54:59 am by VivaRovers »
The Belles will have their appeal heard at the FA today after the adjournment a couple of weeks ago. Not sure if we'll hear the outcome today, but here's a summary of where things stand as they go  to Wembley.

Appeal has been heard and the decision will be announced in due course, how ever long that is.

I trust the legal team the Belles are using has as good an analytical summary of the FA's flawed case as VIVA ROVERS. Well done Glen!

Excellent article Glen  :boxing:

I think you highlight the main issue well, which is the FA have made a policy decision to tag the women's game onto the men's game. The FA have to be one of the most ignorant and vaccuous policy makers this country has ever seen, and they're still at it after over a century, surely time for them to lay down and rot. Yes, I still begrudge them for allowing us to be thrown out of the League back in 1903 - bas**rds!

+1
It's a disgrace that the Belles are still awaiting a decision on this matter. They (the FA) have cocked up royally and need to resolve this issue immediately the 'right, fit and proper' way.

The FA have no sense of irony do they?

At the same time that they are supposedly trying to reign in excessive spending on wages in the mens game, they are planning to demote the Belles for err....not spending enough on wages!

The argument about "access" to the Keepmoat is laughable. Because Belles (and the Dons) play to a summer season, in effect they are saying that Keepmoat and Andy can have no window for essential pitch maintenance.

It is obvious that work needs to be done to prepare the playing surface properly, and the delay to availability is caused by the date of their own showpiece event, the Womens FA Cup Final.

If the Belles did not have a proper business plan, then that does need sorting, but it is not a reason for demotion. Just give them more guidance and help to prepare it under the Sporting Donny banner.

Given this "access" point might crop up again next time the pitch needs renovation, Plan B should be to install turnstiles and changing rooms at the Athletics, to give Belles and Dons a proper overspill option when work is needed.

Spot on Albie.

Its clear the assessment process started from the plan of keeping the league to 8 clubs and deciding Man City were an asset, at which point any sense of reason, never mind fairness, went out of the window. Or it would have done if the FA boardroom had windows - its clearly a deep, dark place, heated by the furnaces of their friend below.
