Rosso review
« on July 09, 2013, 09:40:31 pm by Red Rover »
First half, Brown looked very sharp tonight. Furman and spurr had good halves as well...obviously the opposition wasn't up to much. Like the look of Philskirk, however not convinced he's a striker? Not too sure on Sanchez Payne? Husband linked up well on the left as well.

Second half, was always going to be hard with so many youths. Fernandez looked decent sat in front of the defence, Rob jones won everything, as you would expect.

Pretty easy game for Maxted!

Any views on Middleton, Meade and Finnegan? I thought these 3 were the pick of the bunch when I saw them last season in Youth Cup.

Sanchez Payne looks like he has something. No harm in giving the lad a year in the Development Team.

The youngsters would show a bit more if I'm honest.

With Browny the only striker scoring regular goals against 3, what can be called easy oppositions, not sure where the goals are going to come from next season. Think we need a striker, soon, to easy the load on Browny's shoulders.

Football is being played on the ground! We're doing as much as we need in these games that are there for match sharpness! Like the look of McCullogh - sign him up if we can!

These games are good workouts and well worth doing!

Furman is class, Syers is full of running and energy, Fernandez doesn't give much away, Hubby is improving all the time and half the team look to have shed pounds and ounces ready for the challenges ahead - all pretty good in my opinion.

Have to say i'm surprisingly excited by what may happen this season! I think we'll manage that fourth bottom spot and could go a touch higher!

I would expect nothing more from a pre-season friendly.  Is why I don't go!

The youths did ok. A lot of Hollywood balls if I'm being critical, a lot more short easy passes first half, long balls first half were clinical.

Didn't see much of Middleton to be honest, Finnegan looked ok at left back, got forward plenty, tried hard. Peterson up front worked the line well, didn't link with Paynter really, and maybe tried too hard. Meade did ok in the middle with Fernandez holding with him.

Meade was very good 2nd half,  I thought. He and De Val kept everything in check and worked well together.

Its just the same, mate.  Nice little barbecue/burger gazebo in the corner tonight.  Proper homegrown community club.  I think I'll pop down there now and again when the Rovers dont have a game.  My Mum and Dad still live in the village.

Really enjoyed it myself too - probably a bit longer ago than that since I was there last - It was just a field then! My parents still live in Rosso too so I'll go down there more often now - impressed with the facilities for a community club! Nice pie & peas as well!
