Chances of a new striker
« on August 11, 2013, 10:03:47 am by MrFrost »
Liam Hoden saying on Twitter not to expect any transfer activity.

Can we manage with just two strikers at the club?

....this, and based on the assumption the DFP is right (the actual tweet was "don't expect much in the way of transfer activity" which is pretty none-specfic unless he's going to quantify 'much') and that Rovers aren't shooting their mouth off to every agent/club in the land that we're on the lookout for another striker.

That's disappointing, it's obvious we need at least one new striker

I thought I read Paul Dickov state there could be transfer activity towards the end of the window. I would rather believe that than what Hoden writes.

You're basing one appearance that lasted 5 minutes in the JPT to say he'd make it in this league I assume? come off it.

Lets hope in the last hours of the transfer window we will bring in the players we need. 6 months or season long loans will be good enough, whether the three owners have the will to put the money in not just talking about it but to do it.

well he also came on for much longer than 5 mins at Hartlepool and caused problems. Had a goal dissalowed. Plus the fact that atm we only have 2  senior strikers so to have Ball on a very low wage for backup can't have been a bad thing

I'm very confident we will get a striker in on loan, Guidetti maybe? Sharp isn't the only answer

Don't need a New Striker all we need is for the midfielders to start shooting instead of trying to walk the ball in

So that's around 35-40 minutes of football against a relegated side and a side in League Two in a shit cup no one gives a rat's arse about until the latter rounds. Oh aye piggyback him back, bound to cause trouble for the likes of Wes Morgan and Elliot Ward.

Up to the end of the transfer window you can have short term loans, loans the next transfer window or season long loans. When the transfer window closes you can only have emergency loans up to 91 days.
The problem is if players like Billy are deemed not in the present squad he will only be allowed on loan if cannot be sold so it could be last days, last hours or minutes to get them on loan.

thanks Steve . I understand our most wealthy owner in on holiday util end August but I see the transfer window closes on Sept 2 .. so for  last minute loan business all three owners will be around with their rods cast in the waters.

I'd be very surprised if a striker doesn't appear soon. Just seeing dickov's commentq says that.

I think I know the problem.  No one has said we need a new STRICKER yet!

Can we all start saying this and we will be bound to get one!

Lita has been released by swansea as has luke moore apparently - I've always liked lita - I reckon he could do a bit of a job if given a chance! Wages would be the sticking point for us no doubt!

Lita can do a great job at this level, not had him down for us before though.  Didn't he play for Wednesday on loan last season?
