They don't leave the fish and chips in long enough.
They don't sell mushy peas.
Some don't even serve them into paper.
Their accents are funny.

and it costs a lot more. I must say when i lived abroad i used to always have a chippy on my return to uk and always bar one found them dissapointing when anywhere else than the two i go to in donny. Fish bits is my favorite in donny but there is a cracking one in dunsville though the name escapes me.

Best fish and chips by far are just over the boarder in Wakefield. Bell lane at Ackworth opp Boot and shoe particularly good. Also its always Haddock around Wakefield much nicer than tasteless Cod.

Best Fish and Chips Ive ever had was in Wells-Next-To-The-Sea in North Norfolk a couple of weeks back on holiday.

Wouldn't like to guess where that sits on the North/ South divide.

Think the best I've had were in Seaton Carew on the way to Hartlepool away last season. Can't beat seaside fish and chips. They're always good in Grimsby too, and dead cheap (£2.70 for fish, chips and peas last time I was there) cos that's where they come from!

Do the Norwegians do proper fish and chips, Oslo, or is it all pickled mackerel rolls and stuff?

Have to say the fish and chip shop near to us in Solihull (the Dovehouse Fish Bar) is excellent. There is another good one called the Greville which I often go to if I've been to a Solihull Moors game.

Some of the nicest I've ever had were at a fish shop a stone's throw from the old Feethams ground in Darlington. They were delicious!

they try to do a fish and chips but Its shite and not worth the let down.

Back in blighty like When every used to eat fish and chips some 25 years ago,out Here a type Of sauasge
Is etaten by all and sundry.

It comes in Bread or lumpa which is like a pancake rolled round the grilled or boiled sauasge.

Whenever i have a kids party i make these boiled sauages in lumpa.special trick is too boil the sauages
In a dark beer or ale.

I will use a full bottle Newcastle Brown ale to do above act.

They are indeed shite round here, often under cooked, rubbish peas usually, never any gravy. One alright chippy and they queue for ages to get served, often 30-40 folks on a Friday or Saturday evening!
Where do your lot live then Oslo? Not many rovers fans in these parts, I hear of em but hardly ever see em !

If you've never had fresh fish caught and cooked the same day you've never lived. When I was younger and living in Mabethorpe a man used to bring it round once a weekand my Mum would batter it and cook it the same day. Once you've had it that fresh you'll never look at fish from a fish and chip shop the same way again.

My dad used to have nets, you never knew what was going to be flopping about in the bath when you got up. We lived on flat fish and sea trout when he was alive. Can't get much fresher than that..

 Happy days.
