Anyone disappointed with coppinger lately? Yeah his touch is class and he gets in good positions but play seems to break down an awful lot when he gets the ball, and his crossing is getting even worse! Good job he scores plenty of goals to keep him in the team.....

Most of his flicks and support play was outstanding tonight,  if you're looking for something negative keep looking because it wasn't Coppinger

Copps made one mistake for me tonight. 2nd half when clear on the right and no Blackburn player within 10 yards he lobbed a bread and butter ball into the box for their keeper to gobble up rather than drive into their box and then draw a challenge or drill one low across goal.

One mistake.

That was it.

Everything else was for the team.

Simple answer, no.  Copps was a highly effective component of an excellent team performance tonight.

We won, and won well.  Why look for negatives at all?

I havn't looked for negatives i'v just noticed it, his positioning is second to none and his first touch is class i know but 1 mistake? Take you're blinkers off Rob, several poor crosses and a fancy flick in their box in the second half which browny bollocked him for are just a few! He's a legend, best touch in the team but i don't think anyone can argue against his poor crossing. To say he's a legend he must have one of the worst assist/goals per game ratio's in the 'legend' list

Not blinkered mate. I realise every player tries things that don't come off,  and Copps is no different. I don't call those mistakes,  because they could come off. I merely identified where he made a mistake of judgement and chose the wrong option.

He's on the same wavelength as Wellens. They are both class footballers who buy you time and look after the ball.

They walked off the pitch together after the game. Were they celebrating? No, they were talking about the game and how they could improve.

Sure, Copps at times in that final moment can disappoint but his overall play and contribution is up there. If Copps were more ruthless he'd be playing alongside Ricky Lambert.

The way Wellens played last night just made me realise how important he is to the team a bigger piece in the jigsaw than Sharp returning. Very important we get him on a long term deal. How he's not good enough for Leicester is beyond me.

Totally agree Andy, I think my family got sick of me saying "we've got to get Wellens on a longer deal" every time he did something good....which was most of the time!! For me he's the cog and watching him and Copps, it's like they've always played together without a gap!
