Any chance of a repeat of 2004/05
« on August 28, 2013, 09:59:53 pm by CJK »
After having the audacity to beat the much fancied Hull City to the final Division Three Championship in 2003/04 do we all remember what happened on Hulls visit the following season to Belle Vue? We paraded the Division Three trophy in front of their travelling fans just to say 'look at what you could have won'!

Now since Bournemouth took it upon themselves to prematurely celebrate being League One Champions in 2012/13 whilst Rovers decided to leave it late in the smoke, how about we do the same thing on Saturday? Perhaps the sanitised world of football doesn't allow such pageantry nowadays.

Would be brilliant though wouldn't it?!

Tinpot and would fire Bournemouth up.

Sing about it in the stands but keep the trophies in the cabinet.

Championees to ring around the keepmoat a few times will be enough but will really hurt them.

To be fair they were very keen on seeing the trophy at prenton park , in fact were they not on the pitch demanding it out ?

Well that was until copps scored anyhow . I say put it in the away end and charge them a couple of quid to have a picture with it . Everyones happy then they get a pic of themselves with "their trophy" and we get some extra cash from them .

I agree.

Rovers fans can rub it in if they want, in fact I would expect them to, it happens everywhere. Their fans started celebrating the title prematurely and it came back to bite them and should take it on the chin. No problem with that. If we go down and they stay up then I would expect them to come back with something. It's light hearted, it's (potentially) funny and these little rivalries make being a football fan what it is to many people.

The club officially getting involved is a bit much and should stay out of it for me, it started at fan level and should remain at fan level. It's not very dignified and I would find it a bit embarrassing should a professional organisation to resort to these things. That's my view on it. I hope I'm wrong but unfortunately I fear that we have something cringeworthy lined up (even if it's some cheesy line on the tannoy).

It's my understanding that The League One Trophy has gone back to the FA to be rebranded by SkyBet, so that won't be paraded around.

We will do our best to get the Brentford commentary in at some point! But if the balance ain't right it won't happen.

What everyone should try and do is bring scarves and flags and wave em all game!

I doubt very much if there will be enough fans there from Bournemouth to care.
And what if it backfired and we got beat? How they would piss themselves laughing.

No, not for me

As I thought. According to the Keepmoat site, Bournemouth has sold 127 for Saturday, so waste of time?

Due to their embarrassment maybe??

Think it would be cool to sing a couple of songs to them like..

"We've got your trophy now,we've got your trophy now" to the same beat as their prenton park "we want our trophy now"
and
"where's your trophy gone,WHERE'S YOUR TROPHY GONE!" to the beat of "Where's your daddy gone, where's your daddy gone?"

Or the fact that its a fair distance and we are still in the school holidays... oh and the fact that they've been smashed away from home every game so far this season.

I don't see the big deal about it, we pipped them to the title, not promotion. Lets see what happens over the course of the season eh...

No, i know.
They've conceded 11 in two away league games up to now, so I reckon they will come set up for a draw and try and hit us on the break
