Another 'Balls' Up
« on October 29, 2013, 12:59:44 pm by IC1967 »
Well done Ed Balls for costing the taxpayer around £600k. This is the money Sharon Shoesmith will receive as compensation for the inept way she was sacked by Ed Balls. The Court of Appeal ruled that Mr Balls "had made a complete botched job of her dismissal".

Another one rewarded for failure on Labour's watch:

She found out she was being sacked on TV. It's not the fact that she was sacked that is the problem, its the way Balls did it that has cost us so much money. He was grossly incompetent.

Much the same as this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-24729477# , although on the upside it means an A&E Department stays open, so it's not all bad.

Bit of a random statement. What it's got to do with this thread I don't know.

Probably making the link to the "Balls up" the Con-Dems have made of the Royal Mail sale. Depends how you look at it, at least the spivs & speculators who landed us in this mess in the first place will have a nice profit handed to them by the Tories, while swathes of the country can't afford to heat their homes and have to rely on food parcels to not starve.

Welcome to Dave & Gideon's Britain.

Are you having a laugh? Each month that goes by lessens the likelihood of a Labour victory. 18 months is a long time in politics and I fully expect the good news to keep on coming which will result in a Tory victory.

That's a very tenuous link at best. I wouldn't call members of the public that bought shares spivs and speculators. I'd call them wise investors who knew when they were onto something good.

I have a great deal of sympathy for people that can't afford to heat their homes or feed their families. I'd urge them to read my thread on Gas and Electric Bills so they can find some useful advice on how to ease the financial burden. For example, a lot of these people have probably never ever changed fuels supplier and will be paying around 40% more than they need to. That would pay for an awful lot of food.

Go on then Mick. You're a gambling man. I'll give £100 to whichever charity you name if the Tories get more seats than Labour in 2015. And I'll post the receipt on here to prove it.

Will you do the same the other way round?

To say my piss is boiling is an understatement. I've just found out that the mother of baby P has been recommended for release. The evil bitch should be executed or at the very least imprisoned for life.

I despair of the law makers of this country and the way leftie do-gooders on the parole board think it's OK to release her. Apparently she has ballooned to 22 stones while in prison and says she wants to have another baby. She intends to shag around when she gets out. How any self respecting man could shag that pile of fat beggars belief. Why have our prisons been over feeding her?

If she is going to be released, the very least that should happen is that she should be sterilised beforehand. She should also not be given any benefits whatsoever for the rest of her life. But we all know what will happen. She'll be given a house, she'll be given a new identity, she'll get loads of benefits, she'll get legal aid, and she'll have another baby or 2 or 3 or 4. She'll be a shit mum and we the taxpayers will end up picking up the bill.

Who are the parole board members. Do you have personal knowledge of them and their political beliefs?

This information can be found at the back of their annual report. A quick google search on all the members reveals that there is a very left wing bias.

Do you seriously think that a right-winger would have recommended her release?

It gets worse.  Haringey Council paid £196k in legal fees trying to fight its former head of children's services in her case for unfair dismissal. I hope you're pleased with yourself Mr Balls for wasting so much public money by not following the correct dismissal procedures.

You're going easy on them. Prof Simon Wren-Lewis of Oxford University estimates that Austerity has resulted in a cumulative loss of economic output of about 6% of GDP over the last 3 years. That about £100bn that we're we're currently poorer as a nation, compared to where we would have been if the Austerity-mania hadn't taken over in the 2010.

BCS.

I don;t think Mick talks much about gold these days.

He used to do a year or two back.

Aye. Last year it was all about selling shares and getting in to gold.

And over the last 12 months...

What the Royal Mail sell off has got to do with Ed Balls' cock ups is a mystery to me. But just to clarify matters. It's a good thing that the government sold the company off too cheaply (if indeed this turns out to be the case, unfortunately I don't have a crystal ball) so the small investor like me could make a decent profit.

I think it's much better that the small investor gets some of the profit rather than the politicians getting it all, as the likes of me will use the money far more wisely. I won't go around using the money to buy votes. I'll save it and eventually invest it wisely in our economy.

I'm happy to slag Gordon off if you want me to, but why you are mentioning gold is a mystery to me.

Anyway back to Gordon. Did you know that he is still drawing his MP's pay even though he now describes himself as a non-politician? He hardly does any MP type work, instead he swans around the world promoting 'education.'

If only he'd become a non-politician before he became Chancellor of the Exchequer. We'd all currently be a lot better off.

I also have a view on gold for those of you that are interested. Get some bought. I'd recommend having about 15% of your investment portfolio in gold of some sort. I'd particularly recommend gold miners as a way in. Their shares are going to boom when the world economy collapses in the next few years due to all the unsustainable debt that is still out there.

Bit of a random question but as usual I'll answer every question that is thrown at me. I'd prefer for the national debt to be lower. In fact I'd prefer if we had a national surplus instead. As one of the richest countries in the world we should be lending not borrowing.

You are being very silly now. I need to amend my previous statement or I'm going to be answering more and more irrelevant silly questions. I'm prepared to answer any question as long as it is not very silly.
