Yeovil 22nd of November
« on November 03, 2013, 04:29:52 pm by Draytonian III »
Is the club altering the admission prices for this match ,with it being on Sky, a Friday night match, both teams being near the bottom of league,Yeovil not having the biggest travelling away support . Doubt this thread will bring back the admission prices at other grounds and that will run and run and run and run for another fortnight or so ,but I`m ONLY interested the Rovers vs Yeovil prices ,as it will look bad on Sky television with not many in the East stand etc

I would suggest this will be the lowest crowd of the season. :cold:

Middlesbrough's largest crowd of the season - due to marketing & pricing. go and give the schools tickets
get the kids in. my nephew's boy waved a flag Saturday. That meant that half the family came. give the kids free entry and the accompanying adult half price. Fill the seats

Before Middlesborough played us they had been going through a bad time. Their attendances were dropping. So by reducing the prices for the Sky game, they managed to get the largest crowd of the season.

So the club should use this game to see if reducing prices, halving them to match Middlesborough, will encourage more supporters to attend the game. A win at Barnsley may help and two new loanee faces may help. If the prices are left alone then it will be the lowest crowd of season so far.

Do the maths, I'm sure halving the price won't double the attendance.

Question is, will those extra Boro fans be at the next home game, or the one after that?
Maybe, if they played us every week

This should have been done ages ago.
Some people will have already paid the full £23, so if you reduce prices now what will you do with them? Have them all queue up in the ticket office to get a refund?

My guess is 50 from Yeovil and 5500 from Donny. And yes, it will look embarrassing on Sky.

Another thing. Can we please stop announcing the crowd at home games? Fed up of away supporters taking the piss

SM I appreciate we may lose money. But in the the VSC survey, after the Bournemouth game, ticket prices was the highest stat for low attendance. So reducing ticket prices for this game might show more supporters at the game. It won't help me I have paid for all the home games up front, like many others.

Steve,

I understand your point, but the club are committed to maintaining a price advantage for season ticket holders. A couple of seasons ago that was under threat due to the amount of deals that were on offer and we used that information to ensure the club pitched their future pricing at the right levels.

All clubs, ours included have a budget which they need to hit, the quickest and easiest way to do that is to raise prices! Dropping prices means a reduction in revenue which then has to be met somewhere else. Our club, almost uniquely, have a very high percentage of st holders who are either concessions, juniors, or family tickets. The upshot of that is that the average take per head at a Rovers game is very very low, somewhere in the region of £8.

Some time ago we requested that the club eliminate match category pricing, which they've done. But again the upshot of that is trying to establish a balance. Yes you would expect a lower price to see Yeovil, but by the same token you would expect to pay much more to see Leeds, SWFC etc etc. The club, to their credit haven't done that either.

DW- as a STH and Alliance member I don't recall seeing anything about the Yeovil game. There was an offer for Forest where Alliance members could buy a ticket for a friend at reduced prices and you could get two free tickets for the Burnley game. Not aware of any promos for the Yeovil one.

Maybe, but we have a limited number of games per year to use as a local promotion (4 ?).
If we fail to use this one, it shows incredible naivity and short- sightedness.

I got an email or  perhaps the newsletter which said Alliance members got a free ticket for Yeovil plus another ticket for £10.  Have already been to TO and gift my freebie.

I would certainly advocate the use of 4 promotional games throughout the course of the season.

If the prices, savings and benefits, are right for the ST holder then we should be able to stage 4 promotional games without compromising the ST holders overall position. I would hope ALL ST holders would encourage the use of up to 4 promotional games. Perhaps we should make this clear when selling STs that our savings on tickets could be affected by a few pence per game.

I would definitely like to have seen something for the Yeovil game however, as Martin says, I think the impact at the moment would be minimal.

Having spoken to the officials at the club before the game on Saturday, the attendance was no surprise. That doesn't mean to say we have given up as I am aware that work is ongoing to continue to address may aspect affecting attendance as a result of gathering feedback including recent polls and surveys.

But who predominantly completed the survey. People who come to games who think that high prices are the problem or, people who don't come to games?

The club were/are endeavouring to use feedback from as wide a range of sources as possible as they are aware that feedback from more regular fans won't give us the full picture.

Why dont the club leak a rumour that a certain boyband member 'could' be on the bench for the game, this may attract some extra bums on seats.

Tickets should be £10 for adults and a £1 for kids for the yeovil game, however anyone that wants this discounted price must complete a questionnaire thus getting a wide range of feedback, adding an extra few thousand to the attendance and avoiding the embarrassment of seeing 9000 empty seats on sky tv.
Surely all our st holders would rather sit in a relatively full stadium than one thats empty.
