Leon Wobschall, the author of the piece, Doncaster fella, Known him and family many, many years, he will have received the Info from reliable source. That's all I will say on the matter.

I would be extremely surprised if anything came of this. It sounds like newspaper talk to me ; unless of course they have something to offer to the club and fans than before.

I wonder if it's the same 'relaible source' that got the DFP to print a pack of lies about what happened at the VSC AGM..?

Navel gazing again?
Has the VSC and its AGM become more important than the future of the club...and its chairman?

I really wouldn't know the answer to that.

However, I fail to see what the connection is between DFP journalist and Yorkshire Posts Leon Wobschall ( except both are journalists ).

Ah, maybe you allude to the "Source" of the information being perhaps the same person, with an agenda of some sort. In which case I refer back to first short paragraph.

where do you get off coming up with such suggestions and writing such drivel? The VSC cares about the future of the club BY DEFINITION. It is why the organisation exists.

It appears in the case of a few is has. What proportion of the home support are bothered about the feeling of the VSC directors.

Reading this thread, and the other related ones, has led me to the conclusion that, in the main, football supporters get what they deserve.

It only needs 2 of the million words written on here about SC to realise where this is all leading: 'hedge fund'. That's all anyone needs to know. if you added one more teeny little word, say 'Belize', then it would be overkill.

People are getting different issues confused on here.

If JR decides to stand down, because he cannot fund it in the way he wants, or because he has had enough, then fair enough.  Everyone associated with DRFC would thank him for his contribution, hope he retains an interest, and wish him well for the future.

Nothing lasts forever, and the important thing is that the baton is handed over to people who care for the club and town.

The issue of JR deciding to call it a day does not mean that the current takeover bid is the right one for DRFC. TB and DW have concluded to date that the bid is not in the best interest of Rovers.

As Bob G says, until there is a plausible explanation why a Belize based hedge fund should acquire 100% ownership, then anyone with any understanding of football finance should be cautious. No-one on here has come up with a reasonable theory as to intentions, other than ridiculous crap about reaching the Prem by spending loose change to reach the promised land.

Agree in haste, repent at leisure.

Yep, thanks John for all you've done. Time to move on for him I think before he sullies his reputation, he's done it once before and nearly brought the club to its knees, don't do it again.

Thank you Maps. I had to read that post twice to make sure I'd got it right!

And just to ad a little bit of information, hedge funds have not only accounted for the near death experience currently taking place in Northampton, but they also did EXACTLY the same thing for the folk now, happily, back at The Valley.

Hedge funds? Anyone who is taken in by this unsubstantiated, insubstantial and unresearched set of tempting platitudes needs their bumps feeling. Where are the planning applications? Where are the vision statements? Where are the supporter focused explanations?

Everything we have seen publicly has been designed to appeal to the lowest instinct: greed (and they couldn't even get that in the right ball park) without evidence. I for one am very, very glad TB and DW are around at the moment.
