Yesterday's goals
« on January 05, 2014, 08:05:56 pm by BillyStubbsTears »
Anyone seen them on video? Just that for the first Stevenage goal yesterday, it looked as though Zoko must have been 2 yards offside when the ball bumbled off Quinn, into the Stevenage player and back over Quinn to Zoko's feet.

Wouldn't have surprised me. There was a free kick in the first half where Jones, their defender was at least 4 feet offside and the linesman didn't spot it.

Apparently - going by another post on a different thread - the assessor was shaking his head in disbelief when it wasn't flagged up.

The officials were very poor. But not just for them I still cant believe Turnbull wasn't sent off

I copied it here for you from the Francois Zoko thread

Sorry, thought he was average. BTW, was bang in line on east stand and his goal was 5 yards (not feet, not inches) offside. Referees assessor next to us was shaking his head in bemusement. Still, suppose he finished it better than our lads would have done.

Just watched the replay again , Quinny takes a touch slips then plays the ball against Zoko.
The ball bounces off Zoko and Past Quinn, Zoko just runs onto the loose ball and slots it home.
At no time is Zoko off side.
The only infringement i can see is their #19 Haber (who is offside) impedes Luke McCullough as he attempts to tackle Zoko.

Doesn't it have to be a deliberate attempt to move the ball backwards (if it comes off a defender) to make the player not offside when he takes the ball though?

Didnt Haber make a move for the ball though,i thought so.
