First episode tonight.
I hope Vic & Bob manage to do something good with this.
Sitcom hasn't been their best medium in the past though.

I was lucky enough to have tickets to eb in the audience for Episode 2 when they were filming. Absolute quality cast. On a number of re-takes, they just spontaneously changed the script and it got funnier and funnier

Good stuff, felt Matt Berry carried it a bit though.

More rudery than I expected. That's never been a Vic and Bob staple.
Matt Berry was very good.
I was waiting for a "You wouldn't let it lie..." in there somewhere.

I've not watched it yet, massive fan of Vic and Bob from 'The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer' days but I'm a bit worried about watching them in a sitcom given how bad some sitcoms featuring comedians are. Will have to give it a go on iplayer soon.

Watched it last night. I had high expectations after being a big fan of Big Night Out, Smell Of and Shooting Stars and I gotta say, after the first 5 mins I feared the worst as it came across a bit poor and Bob looked especially uncomfortable in parts... R lass even stated it was shite at this point. (which is saying something considering the utter b*llocks she watches on tele!!)
After that, though, I found myself laughing out loud on several occasions and I think I even snorted once! I agree with many that Matt Berry is Excellent in it and had me in stitches. Quality slapstick and mindless humour with some good one liners... I hope it continues through every episode.

I'm struggling with this a bit. It makes me laugh at times but somehow it just isn't hitting the spot.
I think it's the sitcom set up partly, I just don't think Vic & Bob are that great at acting.
It's difficult to compare it with anything else but Father Ted always went into surreal worlds while always keeping you in the world of Father Ted.
I dunno this is Vic and Bob messing about in a studio which is fine but for me it just feels too cheap and unconvincing as a sitcom. It's not a patch on Big Night Out or The Smell of, that's for sure.

I finally got round to watching the first episode last night, and while I laughed at a few bits (Vic using fake legs while stuck in the hole in the wall to look like he was sat on a table being the funniest part), I'm pretty sure if it wasn't for the fact I'm a massive Vic and Bob fan I would never watch it again. I will keep watching but to be honest it's pretty terrible!

I think the problem is that the BBC have sold it as a sitcom when clearly its a series of elongated Vic & Bob surreal sketches. Remove the word sitcom from your mind and it works brilliantly for me

I would guess in part at least V&B want it to be a pisstake of sitcom, hence the thrown in outside shots of the building with a bit of a Seinfeld jingle.
Oneway or the other I don't think it's working.
