Filo - We've had one put in the ceiling as well. There's now a duct running through our loft which exits out the back of the house, just below the bottom of the roof. What's nice about ours is that we had it put in where a downlight used to sit, so it was a fairly straightforward job electrics wise, and we got one with a downlight in it. Bit like this:I'd give you the fella's name, but i'm down South so wouldn't be much use. Price wise, you're probably looking at half a days rate for a proper electrician, plus parts.
Be careful. I'm reliably informed that certain ceiling ones are not as effective as wall mounted ones at removing moisture. Check the rate of extraction before you commit. Also check if the fan carries on working after you turn the light off. Do you want it to just operate when the light is on. If you have an overrun it can be as long as 20 minutes every time you turn the light on. I have mine set up so that it only operates when the light is on.
I'm going better than a timer, a humidistat is the way forward according to my surveyor
