I'm so glad we beat them!
« on March 12, 2014, 07:11:51 am by River Don »
That Watford side we're a talented lot but their attitude stank.

They paraded around the field like Rovers didn't deserve to be on the same pitch as them. They grappled, held, kicked out and pulled shirts at every opportunity.

It was all so unnecessary, if they'd kept eleven men on the field and kept that high tempo pressuring game up and just played football, I don't think we could have lived with them.

as it was I walked away from the ground last night feeling that justice had been done.

I think that's a view shared by many,  RD.   They were possibly the most talented and yet most dirty side I've seen in a long time.

It's part of the Italian mentality, isn't it.

Not forgetting the constant waving of imaginary yellow cards.

I felt against Udders T that if we went 2 up they would stop their destructive challenges and petulance and play football and it turned out that way

Last night however I feared us going 2 up would have led to a free for all / witch hunt etc . . I did not get to find out of course but as above I was heartily sick of the waving of imaginary yellow cards

The Refs should say "ok you want to see a Yellow well here - get this one for suggesting I should have shown one to someone else"

I was delighted their cynicism got them exactly what they deserved

I've said it before and it still applies; the FA need to get behind refs and let them give out yellows for the above mentioned behaviour. You never, ever see it in Rugby Union, or League for that matter. You wanna say something to the ref? The captain has to do it, and call him sir at the same time. Rugby players get battered and bruised every game, cut eyes, ears hanging off, yet they don't lose their head with the ref and always show him respect. Why can't footballers? Because they are allowed to act like spoiled kids...

Before the red card I thought we were in for a chasing, as their movement was excellent. You wonder if indiscipline is their problem, because with 11 men they looked as good a side as any I've seen this season.

I also thought their manager made an error when he pulled men back to defend after they made it 1-1. We were there for the taking, but by trying to settle for a point they allowed us to launch attack after attack.

Still, it was satisfying to see such a petulant bunch leave empty-handed!

Their players had the typical continental attitude, imaginary cards, faking injury, niggly fouls and one player got stroppy with the ball boy

Three or four minutes before they scored I turned to my mate and said 'they're tiring.'

Then they scored, on a break.

But after that they sat back and we had so much more time and space, they tried to use their energy well and put in spurts and kept wanting to break things up and delay but I felt after they scored we were in the ascendancy and had more energy.

During the first half and start of the second half I think they put so much into keeping us closed down on the back foot in our own half, they just ran out of steam. I'm pretty sure their manager thought, it's a good result if we can shut up shop but they couldn't.

They sat back?, i honestly don't think so. They chased and harried us after they went down to 10 men and that took its toll in the last 15 minutes. There Right back had cramp and a few others looked knackered. We were cutting through them with ease usually not easy to do when you have 10 men behind the ball irrespective of our extra man.

Really enjoyed last night, the stoppage time winner even better purely because there attitude stank and its exactly what Watford deserved, nothing!

Perhaps my choice of words was wrong but you are making the same point I was trying to.

[quote author=Donnywolf link=topic=245551. Don't rugby games get reviewed whilst in play so the ref's is kept informed even if he misses things. think this  may b why they do not get the ref's back  when things don't go there way   :saywhat:
