Jogging
« on March 30, 2014, 02:31:22 pm by Dare to dream! »
I will be resuming Jogging in a few weeks or so now the weather is starting to improve. I usually jog the circuit in kirk sandal woods down the side of danum school. Nice scenery and a lap is 1.26m (run tracker app calculations) but I fancy a change any recommendations abouts where else to go?

I'm thinking about doing the lake at the sode of the keepmoat

Yup that's a good website. If you live out Kirk Sandall way there's tonnes of routes to do, down the canal for example is one I used to do a lot, right out to Bramwith and all around there.  I can't run at the moment and it's massively annoying, especially with the GNR in September.

Presume you mean Sandall Beat?

Round the lake is about 1.8 miles, not a bad run and plenty of other runners around which keeps the motivation up and option to chuck in a couple of the hills for a bit more of a challenge.

There's a track on the inside of the racecourse but the surface is uneven and stony so not great for running, the grass on the actual course is quite thick which makes it "heavy going".

Parkruns are a great free timed 5km race every Saturday morning at 9am. I've never done the Doncaster one but apparently that's in Sandall Park - http://www.parkrun.org.uk/doncaster/

I did the Rother Valley one at the weekend and got my first ever sub 20 minute 5k, was well chuffed.
